"...b at her grandfather Elijah's home near Belle Plaine; in 1917 was living in Keystone, Iowa, where they farmed....In 1962, Emma Myrtle (Kellar) Koch was living with her dt, Mary. In mid-1962, she fell and broke her leg, but has survived that "tussle" as she called it and is able to walk unaided. She writes, "I spend my days reading, painting, or writing mostly, or simply meditating when tired." She has had poems published in 'Lyrical Iowa', a periodical published for Iowa poets." pg 138
