"....when two years old moved with her parents to the Trueblood homestead in the Highland Community. She taught summer school for a number of years and was clerk of the Highland Friends' Church. After moving to Murdock, Ill., she and her husband joined the Methodist Church.
After the death of their son, they adopted a little boy, Frnak Tarkington, whom they reared to manhood. Mr. carmack died 2-15-1932, and Lowry and frank then moved back to Salem, Indiana, where they lived until death, 2-6-1949. She was bu Highland Church Cemetery, which her grandfather, Nathan, had helped to "lay down." Lowry had been visiting at the home of her brother, Walter, of Carson City, Mich., "where she suffered a broken leg and was cared for tenderly for over a year. Her body was sent back to Salem." pg 124
